"Discover and Recover Counseling Services -- There couldn't be a better name to coin my experience. My apprehension about a cookie-cutter program much akin to standardized testing was eradicated, as I saw Mrs. Hinds's heart and passion were tethered to my success. It's hard work to make self-admissions, forge through them, and come to know that recovery is a day-to-day effort. However, this program met me where I was at, and together, we took to task. Not only has my personal journey seen breakthroughs but professionally, I have gained such insight and momentum in my career. I planned to learn just enough to "check off the box" of participation. However, Discover and Recover Counseling Services enveloped me from Day 1 and I am indebted to their professionalism, engagement, warmth, and commitment to their mission" Z.M.

"The SOP program here is life-changing. Mrs. Hinds gives you the tools to a good recovery and they can also be applied in your everyday life. She makes this process so much easier with her guidance and advice on how to approach every situation you could think of. I 100% recommend the services of Discover and Recover." B.D.

"Discover and Recover Counseling Services has done for me, in a month and a half, what over a decade of therapy could not: achieve sobriety.  I have been sober for the longest consecutive period since childhood thanks to her assistance and support. The confidence this program has given me has improved every part of my life" P.D.

"In the substance abuse program, I learn so many techniques on how to help with my substance abuse problem. I learn how to guide myself out of certain situations when they come into my life. Before entering this program I thought I wasn’t going to finish it because I was so deep in the streets and my mindset wasn’t ready to change yet, but when I met Mrs. Hinds and she told me it’s all about self-accountability and you have to put blood, sweat, and tears in this program if you want to change. I couldn’t help my mama pay bills my pops and my best friend died while going through this program so it really changed my life and the way I look at life. The program helps me become a better person of society and a changed man. I thank Mrs. Sharon so much for that like she just doesn’t understand if I could give her the world I would. I always felt like I wasn’t a bad child I just didn’t have any guidance growing up and I feel like this program gave me so many ways that I can help myself and my community. After the program, I found out I was going to be a father and it gave me a reason to change my life so my son or daughter can have the best life they can and I’m going to make sure with every breath in my body to become a great father. Thank you, Ms. Hinds, so much I feel like if I wouldn’t gone through this program I will be in prison right now or dead, it has definitely changed my life." L.N.

"This program helped me to grow into who I am actually am. I was able to work through some emotional baggage that I had been hiding away for years. I was provided tools and exercises to work through my problems that were fueling my addiction. I gained a lot of knowledge of what I was battling when it came to the addition and how to prevent returning to that place. I am happier and feel more empowered in my life. Mrs. Hinds. provided such a safe space and an encouraging atmosphere for my recovery." C.J.

"When I entered Discover & Recovery I was very unsure. I did not understand why I needed a counselor, I felt fine and was doing good. To my knowledge, a counselor was to make you open up about feelings and thoughts and I didn’t want to do that. Little did I know that is exactly what I needed! I was broken down in the way I should think and needed to be open and honest. Mrs. Hinds brought the best out in me. She listened and she taught very well. I am happy I came to all my sessions and tried to learn all I could to take with me once I leave here, my future is brighter and the best is yet to come. Thank you, Mrs. Hinds, for believing in me and showing me the tools I didn’t know about to better myself  here on out!"

"Mrs. Hinds is very compassionate and attentive, she will take the time to understand you as much as she possibly can. She will work with you every step of the way, even after you’ve completed her wonderful program. I was in her IOP and I would recommend Ms. Hinds' services to anyone who is serious about wanting to make a serious change in their life"W.H.

"I am happier and healthier when sober. I have a new purpose in life and this setback/lesson was probably the best thing that happened to me. I have learned to value my career and I understand that my poor decisions and my disease could lead me to losing my job. I have learned to identify and let go of toxic relationships and replace them with positive people who will support my recovery"E.F.

"This program has been a big impact in my life it has help me learn to avoid situations I come around in a daily basis how to avoid my bad habits in a nice and respectful way without offending anyone, strategies that I’m going to keep on using throughout my life, how to say no to my friends and know who’s really my friend and not just my friend because the only thing we have in common is drinking, how to accept that I do have a problem and recognize my triggers using my coping skills to overcome my cravings to not keep on falling victim to my addictions."B.D.

"When I started this program, I was angry. Angry with the thought that I would have to do something that I didn’t need. I just knew the legal system had coined me as an addict behind a mistake that I had made. In the beginning, I was doing the process because I had to. Now I know that the system works. I am able to identify my downfalls and deal with issues, situations, and events in ways that I didn’t think I could. My alcohol addiction was my excuse for everything. There is nothing in my life that I need alcohol for anymore. There are tactics that I learned during SOP to get me passed and away from things that put my life at risk. I am aware that I did need this and it was a blessing in disguise that the accident that I was in, put this treatment in my life. The outlook that I have on my life and future is great and I owe a lot of credit to you and the things that you have taught me. I will use these tools for the rest of my life and continue to stay sober" A.K.

"Great experience with Mrs. Hinds. Always available, easy to schedule, and communicate with. I enjoyed my sessions and can tell I have gained valuable insight to help my recovery. I will continue to use her as a resource and would recommend her to others in need. I was definitely skeptical starting the program but the sessions were more valuable than I ever expected they would be. I looked forward to our time together each week." L.G.

"This program was extremely comforting and helpful for my growth. The hospitality was wonderful and makes me feel welcome to come in every session and go over the parts of my life I really wanted to work on. I was able to process and unravel lots of deeply personal insights with Mrs. Hinds that I haven’t shared with anyone and that truly made the best recovery happen. I enjoyed the exercises as they helped me look into myself. I recognized my raw self-worth, who I am without anything needed externally. I learned my friendships and communication was not effective cause I didn't trust anyone. This program helped me realized that effective communication helps me to connect better with the world as well as myself. Until this program, I had never acknowledged that a higher rock bottom existed, that I had one and it did not have to be suicide or death. I realized now that my rock bottom was having a depression come over me and realizing that was my rock bottom. I learned one of my behaviors when I use to use was hoarding things from the past and that they were all triggers and inducing this energy, making it harder for me to want to change. Therefore, a couple of weeks ago I cleaned out my room, left, and came back home to a new space and it made me feel refreshed and relieved like a cord had been cut. I was not even aware of this. Additionally, learning that 2.2 million people being incarcerated behind drugs took me out of the mindset that I was the only person going through this situation and It has furthered me to want to help others in these situations.   The whole journey through the program was worth every second and I know it will help many others reach their goals of living a better life! " G.K.

"IOP sessions with Mrs. Hinds. were informative and educational. Through IOP, I learned a lot about myself. Mrs. Hinds takes the time to get to know her clients and genuinely cares. She’s a great counselor and it’s definitely her calling to help others in need. I hope she continues to help and change one client at a time."  P.M.

"I was brought to Discover and Recover because of a DWI. I did not think I needed treatment, after all, no one wants to accept that reality. The program accepted me and my feelings toward treatment and approached my treatment accordingly. After each session, I found myself more willing to open up and accept my mistakes for what they were, a consequence of my substance abuse. Mrs. Hinds was able to take my daily life and break it down into a productive tool for recovery. After completing the SOP Program, I feel that I have a better understanding of my triggers and situations that may lead me to lose control. I understand what the disease of addiction looks like and I am committed to being better for myself and my loved ones." F.G.

"I have learned by digging deep into my consequences and impacts of my substance use on my life recharges me emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I’m utilizing my leisure time with walking, spending time with my niece and nephew, church on Sunday’s, and it helps me stay grounded. I am growing! I am glad my consequences led me to get and be open to help. Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Counseling/Education helped me identify and be aware of things about addiction and faulty thinking. I see this as an awakening for a better life of not needing a crutch to deal with life, there are coping skills to better manage and understand how to deal with life without drugs/alcohol. " C.D.

"Mrs. Hinds. is a very professional and helpful person, she listens to everything you have to say and tries to find the best way to help." F.G.

"You are a wise and amazing woman, I felt down when I arrived but I told myself, if I can just get to my session, I will feel a whole lot better and I am glad I came." P.L.

Thanks a lot for working with me. You are a great Counselor and I wouldn't have went to any other place. You have done a great job with me." L.S.

"A lot of good information was disclosed over the last few sessions. There are some important takeaways that I am now aware of, including triggers and coping mechanisms. Hopefully, I'll be able to recognize symptoms and problems with other people and be able to help them. For me, sobriety will be easy because I will think of the consequences of my actions and realize that drinking and driving can result in hurting myself and more importantly others. It's all about making responsible decisions. Discover and Recover Counseling were instrumental in realizing these goals". B.B.

"The IOP program was helpful in identifying issues I had not thought about as well as educating me on the facts of chemical dependency and the proper course to treat it." T.M.

"Mrs. Hinds. is very helpful. She has helped me shift my mindset and thoughts. She has helped me with my anger as well as given me the resources I need to continue my recovery. She has gone out of her way to help me and I really appreciate everything she has done. I will be eternally grateful and hope she can remain in my life as a supporter. I will continue to keep in touch and update her on all my progress."  L.S.

"I learned more about myself than I ever expected to and I learned more skills than I knew ever existed. I learned the importance and value of recovery. I am better able to handle unpredictable swings at work which used to be a very strong source of stress. Before attending the IOP program I struggled with being overwhelmed, stress, falling and staying asleep through the night, etc. Now I sleep through the night. My days no longer have high peaks of stress and of being overwhelmed etc. My days are little to no stress and are pretty even keel."S.J.

"You inspire me and fill me full of positive energy, hope, confidence, and inspiration. It's women like you who drive me to be better and maintain sobriety. You have saved many lives, including mine! I am writing this to say thank you, you will forever be in my heart and mind. Anytime I start to doubt, I will remember all that you taught me."A.M.

"I have made so many changes. I have stopped drinking and with her support, I have stayed away from any drugs. Also through her counseling, I have learned many techniques to continue my sobriety.I have made a lot of progress in my life with counseling techniques such as thinking reports, relapse prevention skills, and cognitive behavioral skills.  I have been meeting with her for almost a year now and she has empowered me to be more confident and use more of my skills to the fullest. I am better when I am sober so to stay sober is to move forward and past any mistakes to overcome and be a better person."  T.M.

"I have changed my attitude about life and the problem I had with alcohol. I use to think "not me, it couldn't happen to me" but the truth is it can happen to anyone. Since beginning my counseling here, my life has changed. Some positive changes I've made include the way I think, how I spend my time, and how I view the world. I've enjoyed myself better because I've had a chance to line up my priorities and values and go about them. I've spent time nurturing and growing myself. Most importantly, I've learned that it's okay to have a problem. All it means is that you just have some work to do and that's okay. It can be fixed and you can be a better person. Every day is a new day.  I have made so much progress since beginning my counseling. I have been more positive in my days, learned to shut down those negative thoughts, and I have learned how to handle alcohol. The biggest thing I've made progress is working on myself and doing what I like to do by getting in touch with myself. My experience has been very positive. The clinician is superb. She is always there for you when you need her, day and night, and she is flexible around your schedule. She will be real with you and she will help you understand the dangers of drugs and alcohol all while guiding you through the process. There were times where lessons felt personal, but that's okay because it meant that you were engaging with yourself and your problem. At some point, you will feel lifted and like you can do anything and that's because the program truly is there to help you. Once you near the end, you will feel renewed and stronger. I always thought that those words were cheesy and were perhaps not true when people said them, but I guarantee you that it is 100% You will feel renewed and stronger, and like you can do anything. All because you've identified the problem, evaluated it, and rectified it. Don't ever wait. Get out there and do what you need to do so you can be a better you. That's what I did, and I can honestly say that these services are premium for an affordable price and flexible schedule." A.R.
